"Hi, I'm Nikki, I'm so excited you're here"

I am a nurse practitioner (NP) licensed in Ontario, Nunavut and board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I love meeting new people, constantly learning, and travelling as much as possible. When I am not working I am often hiking the trails in Springwater and Simcoe County with my dogs, visiting with family and friends or planning my next adventure.

I am passionate about helping my clients meet their health and wellness goals.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

In Ontario, a nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse (RN) who has advanced education and training to provide a wide range of healthcare services. NPs work autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver accessible, timely, and cost-effective care. Nurse practitioners are authorized to diagnose and treat common illnesses and chronic conditions. They provide comprehensive primary healthcare services, including conducting physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and managing ongoing care. NPs emphasize prevention, health promotion, and disease management, aiming to provide accessible care close to patients' homes and communities. Nurse practitioners help improve timely access to care by providing same-day or next-day appointments for non-urgent conditions. This can help reduce wait times for patients who need medical attention but may not require emergency services. Studies have shown that NP-led care can lead to reduced emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and healthcare costs. By delivering appropriate care at the right time and place, NPs help optimize resource utilization and ensure cost-effective healthcare delivery.

"I understand the value of your time"

I believe that everyone should have access to timely and holistic services that allow us to look and feel like the best versions of ourselves.

I know how frustrating it can be to call your primary care provider and be given an appointment in 2-3 weeks.

I know how it feels to wait in the emergency department or walk-in clinic for several hours, losing income due to missed work, time away from family or social activities.

I understand how agonizing it can be to spend time and energy wondering and deciding if you or your child need to be seen at the clinic or emergency department.

That's why I have decided to launch accessible and timely non-urgent and primary care services at Stay Well. Because I understand the value of time as is pertains to our livelihoods, families, social outlets and self-care.
